First pro contract for goalkeeper Théo Chatelain at Stade Lavallois: “the hardest part begins”

Théo Chatelain is a happy young man in Mayenne. This Tuesday, at the age of 23, the goalkeeper signed his first professional contract with Stade Lavallois, a commitment of one year plus another in the event of maintenance in Ligue 2.

He arrived at Tango in the summer of 2021 from Angers (L1) where unfortunately he failed to break through, “it’s the beginning of a new chapter, the hardest part begins” he explained during a press conference at the Gandonnières training center.

The president of Stade Lavallois, Laurent Lairy, and coach Olivier Frapolli praise the qualities of this goalkeeper, number 3 in the club’s current hierarchy, behind Alexis Sauvage and Maxime Hautbois. “We now have three quality goalkeepers in the group. Théo has integrated perfectly, he is an exemplary boy, very good on his line, aerial skills and an interesting kicking game. He has a real personality to command his defense” detailed the Mayenne technician.

Théo Chatelain will be able to progress further, show his full potential within the professional group, “Alexis and Maxime have an important role thanks to their greater experience, they give me valuable advice”. He had the opportunity to be on the bench 18 times in National and Ligue 2. He was established once, last season, during a meeting against Chantrigné in the Coupe de France.
