Fifteen novels in the first selection of Renaudot

(Paris) The jury for the Renaudot prize has selected 15 novels in its first selection, including four also in the race for the Goncourt, he said on Wednesday.

Posted yesterday at 1:16 p.m.

The books of Grégoire Bouillier, Nathan Devers, Yves Ravey and Monica Sabolo are also in the first selection of Goncourt, traditionally delivered on the same day as Renaudot.

Among the surprises, the jury retains the latest novel (to be published on Friday) by Michel Quint, author of an abundant body of work, but generally shunned by the most prestigious prizes.

The star novel of this literary season, Dear asshole by Virginie Despentes, was out of the race since this author had already won the Renaudot in 2010.

Among the 11 essays, we note that of the journalist Guillaume Durand on the painter Édouard Manet.

The rotating presidency of the jury has been entrusted for this edition to Dominique Bona, of the French Academy.
