Following a fairly hectic June, Canada moved up two places and now stands at 43e rank in the FIFA World Ranking.
The first 11 teams in the standings are always the same. Reigning World Cup champions Argentina are first, followed by France, Brazil, England, Belgium, Croatia, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal and Spain, 10e.
Sixty-two matches have been played since the last FIFA World Rankings were released in June, and Canada have taken part in six of them.
Head coach John Herdman’s squad went 2-2-2 during that streak, with both of their losses coming against the United States – in the Concacaf Nations League final and then in the Gold Cup quarter-finals.
Canada is nevertheless third in the Concacaf zone, after beating Costa Rica. Canada has already occupied the 33e rank of the world ranking, in February 2022.
