Feist drops Arcade Fire tour

Feist drops the band Arcade Fire as the opening act for their show. The artist was scheduled to perform before the Montreal band on the European leg of their world tour, but changed his mind due to the sexual misconduct allegations now looming against the singer, Win Butler.

“Staying on the world tour symbolizes that I am defending or ignoring the harm caused by Win Butler [le chanteur d’Arcade Fire] and leaving would imply that I am judge and jury. […] I can’t solve that by leaving, and I can’t solve that by staying. But, I can’t go on,” she explained in an online post.

Four people have claimed they suffered harassment and unwanted sexual touching from the Arcade Fire singer, in an article published in the magazine pitchfork a few days ago. Win Butler denied these allegations, maintaining that the relationships with his alleged victims were consensual.

Arcade Fire started a world tour on August 30 around their latest album We. The group planned to cross Europe before reaching North America towards the end of October. They are scheduled to stop at the Bell Center in Montreal on December 3.

Several radio stations have already temporarily removed the songs of the Canadian group from their airwaves in the last few days.

More details will follow.
