February 13 World Radio Day and the Mediterranean Worlds Forum

Proclaimed in 2011 by UNESCO Member States and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an International Day, February 13 has become World Radio Day (WRD). Radio is a powerful tool that remains the most widely consumed medium worldwide. It is also one of the most reliable media, according to various international reports. The theme of the 2022 edition of World Radio Day is therefore devoted to “Radio and Trust”..

It should be remembered that it was around 1913 that the first shared radio bands came into service. Since that time, and despite digital developments, radio has not lost the trust of listeners, on the contrary it is still gaining in confidence.

LONG LIVE THE RADIO! LONG LIVE THE RADIOS!

Nadira Belkhoutout’s guest is for this edition Ming Lum, from the UNESCO office in Rabat.

As with every edition, Kantara celebrates World Radio Day. To evoke this theme Jérôme Susini for France Bleu Rcfm questioned a radio man who is none other than Paul Biondi the director of this station based in Corsicaone of Radio France’s 44 local stations.

To find out why we trust the radio more than other media, Dina Abdel Meguid asked Radio Cairo listeners

Although affected, like the other media, by a generalized crisis of confidence, radio is therefore still considered the most credible medium. A medium from the heart that is part of everyone’s daily life. An accessible, lively, popular, agile medium, a formidable relay for artistic creation and a close ally of artists, who have trusted them throughout their careers. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Radio Tunisienne, many artists have testified to the confidence they have in Tunisian public service radio RTCI.
