The incident occurred on federated trail C-902, in the middle of a forest area, around 6:30 p.m.

For some unknown reason, the victim was ejected from his snowmobile before crashing into a tree. It was a friend he was with during the accident who contacted the emergency services.

“As the area is very isolated, it was particularly complicated to be able to pick up the man,” said Hugues Beaulieu, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Transported to the nearest hospital, Charles-Alexandre Beaulieu, originally from Gatineau, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
