Farewell Mr. Haffman in Argentan.

The play, written and directed by Jean-Philippe Daguerre, received critical acclaim and was awarded 4 Molières. It has even been adapted for the cinema, with a film due out in 2022 with Daniel Auteuil, Sara Giraudeau and Gilles Lellouche.

The story takes place in Paris in 1942, where a Jewish jeweler offers his employee to take over the management of the store. The latter accepts, if the jeweler gives a child to his wife because it is sterile. Joseph Haffman will accept and follow the evolution of his shop while being hidden in the cellar, and he will attend the success of his employee who will create a crowned jewel of success.

A play halfway between “The last metro” by François Truffaut and “Inglorious Bastards” by Quentin Tarentino!
