A year after the royal wedding and the move of Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, Netflix’s superb period series, available in French and English, focuses on the love life of Viscount Anthony, the eldest of the friendly Bridgerton family. . At 29, Anthony (finally) feels the call of marriage. The drunken evenings resume in London and Anthony intends to recruit the perfect wife there who will speak Greek, Latin and French, who will know the classics of world literature, who will know how to ride a horse and who will master the song, while combining charm, beauty and distributed.

Of course, super-producer Shonda Rhimes brings us lemon-yellow outfits (hello milliner!), over-dressed people, fiddle pop music and decadent fun. But underneath that sweet coating we love, there’s a lot more story meat to chew on.
One of my favorite characters from the series, the bright and fiery Eloise Bridgerton, continues her quest to unmask Lady Whistledown. Eloise also officially enters society, which repulses her royally. Eloise prefers to read and imagine her life as a feminist writer outside the stifling shackles of her inner circle.
Penelope Featherington, another favorite character, skilfully leads her double life and will join a formidable ally in her search for juicy information, which brings her a lot of money.
I love Bridgerton. I adore the rogue Featherington mum, the silly sister Prudence, the endearing mum Violet Bridgerton and the naughty Cressida Cowper.
With its diversified distribution and its modern take on the dusty codes of the aristocracy of the early 19and century, Bridgerton is the illegitimate child of Downton Abbey and gossip girl. It’s TV candy. Treat yourself.
The Order of the Temple of Saint Alice
