80 days after the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the situation is increasingly critical in Gaza, where 93% of the population struggles to feed themselves properly.

A crowd movement in Rafah. It is a humanitarian convoy which has just been attacked by locals. They grab boxes of food, a witness films. Hamas men are shooting to disperse people. A 17-year-old teenager killed, family threatens Gaza. 93% of the population is in dire need of food and some are ready to do anything to get it, even if it means scrambling to fill their bowls. “Today the situation is very difficult, it’s chaos, there is violence even though we are good people, but we are hungry, we no longer have the means to buy or prepare food”explains a resident.

On the market, prices have tripled

In a United Nations center, distribution of flour, a basic element of food. “The children are hungry sometimes I feel so helpless that I hide so that they stop asking me for food”, says this father who has been coming for several days in vain to get something to eat. Today, he’s finally the right one, he collects two bags of flour to make bread. In the Raffah market there are no longer any imported products, only a few vegetables harvested locally and their price has tripled. The family had to borrow money from a friend to be able to exceptionally afford their tomatoes and some biscuits.
