For 1000 years human beings have extracted millstones from this place, stones intended for mills. We then dug up to 3m deep and suddenly, these “notches” were filled with water. Not all of them have water throughout the year, and all the more so now, with successive dry seasons.
So, Isabelle Mayau when you visit this place with the children, what attracts them?
The small animals that can be observed near the ponds, whether they are frogs and other batrachians, or flying animals. We saw plenty of dragonflies.
What did Isabelle like? The peat bog and the guide’s explanations which gave him to understand that it takes several centuries to achieve an environment like this.
The Pinail Nature Reserve in a nutshell:
- 1h30 of walking for a circuit that slaloms between the different environments,
- it’s free,
- it’s alive,
- and we can be guided by making an appointment.
Thank you Isabelle Mayau that we find on Instagram and Facebook with the Good Plans of Isa and Marion.
