Members of Extinction Rebellion dressed as clowns gathered on Saturday March 23 in front of the TotalEnergies refinery in Gonfreville-l’Orcher, near Le Havre, in Seine-Maritime, to mime a “birthday snack” on the occasion of the 100 years of the oil group, reports France Bleu Normandie.
“Finish your crimes and your clowning”, was written on a banner hung in front of the factory entrance. These activists, dressed as clowns, had brought a large cake, which they cut up, before symbolically offering the largest share to TotalEnergies.

Earlier, late Saturday morning, around sixty activists from the association, also disguised as clowns, were inside the TotalEnergies refinery in Donges, near Saint-Nazaire, in Loire-Atlantique, to denounce the ” clowneries” of the giant preroller.
