Exciting New Features Arriving in April for French: Monster Hunter Wilds with First Free Content Update

Monster Hunter Wilds players are eagerly awaiting the first content patch scheduled for April 3-4, 2025, which will introduce new monsters, including the iconic Mizutsune, and a hunting hub accessible at hunter rank 16. The Zoh Shia will return in Expert mode at rank 50, offering new gear. An event featuring the Supreme Rey Dau Alpha is set for April 29, along with arena challenges and seasonal festivities to enhance gameplay.

Nearly a month has passed since the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, and many players have already explored the existing content. With a limited bestiary, particularly at the higher difficulty levels, hunters are eagerly anticipating the arrival of new, powerful monsters and fresh challenges to conquer.

Upcoming MH Wilds Update Schedule

The highly anticipated first content patch is set to arrive between April 3 and 4, 2025 (depending on your time zone). Following the update, players will need to wait approximately ten days to fully experience the new features. Notably, some of the event quests announced won’t become available until April 29.

The Return of Mizutsune

Exciting news for fans: the iconic Leviathan, known for its bubble attacks and jets of pressurized water, will reappear in MH Wilds. While its difficulty level remains undisclosed, players can look forward to new armor sets for both their hunters and Palicos. This formidable creature can be unlocked at hunter rank 21 by chatting with Kanya, the fishing quest coordinator.

Grand Hunting Hall Features

A key element that was missing in Wilds is the hunting hub where players can gather and engage in various activities. This much-awaited feature will be accessible at hunter rank 16 by speaking to Tetsuzan at Suja, the enormous Wyverian.

This expansive area has received significant attention and will include:

  • A canteen offering authentic meals.
  • Barrels designated for arm wrestling.
  • A dedicated fishing spot.
  • An explosive barrel bowling mini-game, where players can win prizes.
  • A variety of NPCs from the Windy Plains base camp, including the squad management officer.
  • A Diva hosting nighttime concerts.
  • The arena, which will be elaborated upon later.
  • Seasonal celebrations returning to enhance decorations, meals, and event quests.
  • Hints that the Miarouders’ Safaris may also make a comeback, though this is yet to be confirmed.

Facing the Zoh Shia in Expert Mode

The final boss of the main storyline, the Zoh Shia, will be available once again in Expert mode. Following a similar pattern to the Jin Dahaad, players can expect to encounter this monster regularly in the Wyverian Ruins area as part of an expedition. However, it won’t be accessible until hunter rank 50.

This monster rewards Artian Relics in its normal form, but it’s still uncertain if it will also have an Alpha version. We can only hope for that!

New equipment associated with the Zoh Shia will also be introduced, featuring fresh weapons and armor for both hunters and Palicos. It will be interesting to see if these items surpass the Artian weapons currently dominating the meta.

Supreme Rey Dau Alpha Event

As anticipated, similar to MH World, Capcom is offering a supercharged version of the Apex Alpha through event quests. The first challenge awaiting hunters is the formidable Rey Dau. Prepare for tougher encounters, as it will come with new, unexpected attack patterns. This monster will only be available through event quests for hunters ranked 50 and above, with its debut scheduled for April 29.

In exchange, new armor sets from the Rey Dau Gamma collection will also be introduced at the forge. Let’s hope these bonuses significantly outperform those of the base sets!

Arena Challenges

The arena feature was notably absent in MH Wilds, but it is set to return. The concept involves battling a monster in a controlled environment using predetermined weapons and gear. Players may not always find their preferred weapon on the list, which encourages adaptability. The arena can accommodate one to two players, and the objective is to defeat the monster as swiftly as possible. Performance is graded with various scores, rewarding participants with cosmetic pendants. A global ranking system will also be integrated, although it may face challenges with cheaters, as has been the norm.

A second mode will accompany the free arena, allowing players to confront specific monsters using their chosen equipment. The Supreme Rey Dau Alpha can also be faced in this format.

Harmony Festival Festivities

Seasonal celebrations are set to bring a festive atmosphere to the game, providing players with an array of exciting activities and quests.
