After Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France and the Grand-Est, schools in the south-east were affected by cyberattacks very early in the morning of Tuesday March 26.

Threats of attacks have persisted for several days in certain high schools. Currently, 23 establishments in Haut-Rhin are the target of worrying messages and around ten high schools in the south of France have also been affected since Tuesday March 26. Already, the day before, a return to school under close surveillance took place for many high school students. Closed gates and clearly visible armed police officers were stationed in front of a Lille high school (North). Each bag is carefully searched. “I don’t take this lightly”says a parent of a student.

“There will be no impunity”

These attack threats are sent through the digital workspace (ENT), after certain accounts have been hacked. As a security measure, messaging has since been suspended. An investigation is open, and the perpetrators are actively sought. “There will be no impunity”, assures Nicole Belloubet, Minister of National Education. In the establishments concerned, psychological units have been set up, for those who express the need.
