The spokesperson for the Ministry of the Armed Forces reacted Thursday, December 23 on Twitter to the visit of candidate Eric Zemmour to Abidjan, in Ivory Coast, to the French forces of Operation Barkhane present there.

The candidate had made the request to the Army as is done regularly. “It is a very common and legitimate republican practice”, specifies the ministry.

Candidates are, on the other hand, required to carry out these visits “in the greatest discretion”, without media, without images, for “respect operational and confidentiality requirements” and avoid “any political instrumentalisation”.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of the Armed Forces regrets that this “moral commitment was not kept by a candidate”. “We will draw the consequences with regard to the next requests of Eric Zemmour”, Florence Parly’s cabinet was also annoyed.
