The Republicans meeting this Wednesday, June 12, unanimously decided to exclude from their party their president, Éric Ciotti, who had proposed an alliance with the far right and the RN.

The LR political office took the decision, Wednesday June 12, to exclude Éric Ciotti from the Republicans unanimously. The governance of the movement is ensured by Annie Genevard and François-Xavier Bellamy. This is the consequence of Eric Ciotti’s announcement of an alliance with the National Rally. Within the right-wing party, many had called for the resignation of their president. A little earlier, the outgoing deputy for Alpes-Maritimes, president of the Republicans, had closed the party’s headquarters in Paris.

Eric Ciotti’s response was quick: “none of the decisions taken at this meeting have any legal consequences. They may have criminal consequences. I am and remain the president of our political party, elected by the members!”. The members of the political bureau indicated that they would nominate all the outgoing deputies, except Éric Ciotti and Christelle D’Intorni, the outgoing deputy for the 5th constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes.
