Lovers of bubbles and fine gastronomy can now and for three more weeks awaken their taste buds thanks to the event La Tablée éphémère X Veuve Clicquot, a unique experience created as part of the 250e anniversary of the illustrious brand of champagne.
Until September 25, unique gastronomic experiences, presented in the form of pop up ephemeral, will be offered to discerning palates in a place in Montreal that normally houses offices, namely 465 rue McGill.
For the occasion, the premises of the establishment will be transformed to welcome the guests, who will have purchased their ticket in advance, at the festive tables. Montreal chefs Francis Blais (Extra menu), Theo Lerikos (Tuck Shop), Danny Smiles (Auberge Willow Inn) as well as the couple Raegan Steinberg and Alex Cohen (Arthurs Nosh) will be there, each in turn, to offer their version of an exclusive three- or four-course menu, washed down with the best champagnes from Veuve Clicquot. Meals will be served mainly for dinner, but à la carte appetizers will also be offered in the afternoon and brunches will be offered on Sundays.
“To celebrate the 250e anniversary of Veuve Clicquot, we wanted to offer unforgettable culinary experiences and we have teamed up with renowned chefs, who have concocted the best dishes to match our champagnes,” explains Véronique Gonneville, communications director for the brand. Meal prices, including glasses of champagne, vary between $55 and $250 per person.
Combine business with pleasure
All profits made during the event will be donated to the non-profit organization La Tablée des chefs, which is celebrating its 20e birthday this year. “All proceeds from this event, with a minimum of $10,000, will be donated to this charitable organization whose mission is to feed those in need, fight food waste and develop culinary education and food in young people. Joining forces with La Tablée des chefs is a great opportunity for us to contribute to the mission of an organization whose values are important to us and to celebrate our respective anniversaries together! adds Veuve Clicquot’s director of communications.
For table service logistics, the organizers trusted the A5 Hospitality group, which owns several restaurants and bars in Montreal. The A5 group has also agreed to work at a reduced margin and to give back the profits generated from these events to the NPO.
For his part, the general manager and founder of La Tablée des chefs, Jean-François Archambault, is delighted with this association with the champagne brand. “Social gastronomy must live through events like this. We celebrate, we have fun, we eat good meals, we drink champagne, but we also take pleasure in giving back to organizations like ours, which help people in need. He recalls that, during the last two years of the pandemic, no less than 4.4 million meals have been delivered to the most disadvantaged across Canada thanks to the Cuisines solidaires programs put forward by the NPO.
People wishing to buy tickets can do so now by going to the event site.
