About forty French departments are now on heat wave alert in the south and west of France, but the Pyrénées-Orientales are no longer part of it. This Sunday morning, Météo France lifted the orange vigilance. It had been in effect since 1 p.m. Friday.
Despite everything, the heat will persist for the next few days in the Pyrénées-Orientales, but without reaching the extreme peaks recorded on Friday.
A short respite?
If the temperatures promise to be more bearable until Tuesday, with highs falling sharply and cooler nights, the thermometer should rise again from Wednesday. The maximums go again exceed 35 degrees for at least a week, according to Météo France.
