[EN IMAGES] Montérégie: a pizzeria possibly victim of arson

A restaurant in Verchères, in Montérégie, was completely destroyed by flames during the night from Saturday to Sunday in a fire that could be arson.

Emergency services were called around 10:30 p.m. to the Pizz Verchères restaurant after a fire broke out.

No one was injured in this fire, but the business was declared a total loss, according to Jean-Michel Juteau, spokesperson for the Richelieu–Saint-Laurent intermunicipal police agency.

Although the cause of the fire is still unknown, it could be foul play, so the investigation has been transferred to the police.

Note that this is the second fire to occur at Pizz Verchères in just seven months. Last September, Molotov cocktails were thrown at the business, but the fire was quickly brought under control.
