The Longueuil agglomeration fire safety service (SIAL) was called around 3 a.m. for a fire at the Jacques Cartier Pizza establishment, located on Curé-Poirier Boulevard, near Saint-Georges Street.

The firefighters dispatched to the scene quickly brought the flames under control, but the damage was enormous, according to a SIAL spokesperson, who does not speak of a total loss, but who nevertheless estimates the damage at around $200,000.

Given the suspicious nature of this fire, which occurs after a series of arson attacks on businesses of the same nature, the investigation was transferred to the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).

A SPAL spokesperson confirmed the transfer of the file, stating that no hypothesis has been ruled out for the moment and that we must await the conclusions of the investigators, who should begin their work on the scene in the morning.
