On the supermarket shelves there is always a lot of packaging. We can even come across unpleasant surprises, such as half-filled containers. “On some products, there are really a lot. I think some companies could make sure to reduce them”says a customer. The packaging contains up to 55% vacuum. This is what denounces a study of 250 products carried out by Consumption Housing Living Environment (CLCV), a consumer association. Oversized sachets or empty cartons now shock consumers.

The CLCV calls on manufacturers to make an effort. However, these empty packages can be useful. Indeed, some contain natural gas to protect the products. Of the four brands contacted by the France Télévisions teams, only one responded. She says she is working to reduce packaging.
