The Head of State, guest on the program “L’Evènement” on France 2, has also called “responsibility” the management of TotalEnergies and the CGT.

While thehe general secretary of the CGT, Philippe Martinez, announced the filing of a summary against the requisitions at ExxonMobil, Emmanuel Macron was confident on the front of the fuel shortage. Invited in the program “L’Evènement” on France 2, Wednesday October 12, the president estimated that the situation was going “return to normal” “in the course of the coming week”.

The Head of State also called again “to responsibility” the management of TotalEnergies and the CGT, hoping that the union “allow the country to function”. The President of the Republic has justified the requisitions of ExxonMobil employees, which the government has decided to initiate today : “We had to do it because we can’t leave the country blocked.”

“I am for social dialogue, never for blocking. I have a thought for all of our compatriots who are queuing in the middle of the night to find gasoline. But I say it very clearly, if the social dialogue does not succeed in the next few hours, we will requisition”, said Emmanuel Macron.
