Emmanuel Macron meets his supporters for his start to the campaign

Emmanuel Macron needs this support. This is the first message that the president-candidate sent to his hundred guests Monday morning at his campaign office. Half of them were elected officials who sponsored him.

These sponsors, like the deputy Roland Lescure, must also serve as relays on the ground, his campaign taking place in a particular context: “There are events that impose themselves on him, with which he does best, believes the parliamentarian. He spent a good part of the weekend on the phone with all the leaders of this world, including those on the front lines of this conflict. But as soon as he has a moment, he campaigns. It starts today. The candidate was there, and he will stay there as long as he can.”

Second message of the one who is today at the head of the voting intentions: nothing is written. A message approved by Hubert Falco, the mayor of Toulon: ” An election campaign is played when the last ballot has been counted. So he asked us to be serious, determined on the ground, to convince people to vote, and to vote for Emmanuel Macron.

The mayor of Toulon comes out arm in arm with Renaud Muselier, the president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. He too defected from the Republicans. And obviously, they enjoyed the meeting: “The atmosphere in this house is not at all the same as that in the other house. There is the will to work together for the country”, believes Renaud Muselier. Hubert Falco completes: “There is here what there is no longer there. Here, there is a leader.”

In the evening, Emmanuel Macron will be in Poissy, near Paris, for his first public meeting. The mayor, Karl Olive, his friend, organized a meeting for him with some 200 inhabitants. “I found the president a competitor, with the desire to exchange views, to confront each other’s opinions. Not necessarily convinced, but those who still need to be convinced”, judge the aedile.

“The president wanted anything but a political rally with banners with people jumping on chairs. It will be done without a filter.”

A “conversation” is what the campaign team calls the meeting. It is scheduled to last between an hour and a half and two hours. But everything can change at any time, recalls the entourage of the candidate.
