A few hours after Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Marseille, Yannick Ohanessian, deputy for city security, Lionel Royer-Perreaut, Renaissance deputy and Sébastien Delogu, LFI deputy for Bouches-du-Rhône, are guests of 19/20 info .

Emmanuel Macron made a surprise visit, Tuesday March 19, to Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) after the “place net” operation which aims to rid the Marseille city of drug trafficking. Sébastien Delogu, LFI deputy for Bouches-du-Rhône, assures that he was not informed of the president’s visit. “He is currently in the campaign, it’s really a communication stunt. I rather think that he is afraid of the Marseille plan being defeated on a large scale”, assures the elected official. According to him, the president is not tackling the causes of drug trafficking, like the problems linked to housing, transport, employment or school.

A “national-scale” operation

Faced with the “clear space” operation set up on Monday March 18, Yannick Ohanessian, deputy security officer for the city of Marseille, greets “an operation on a national scale” unprecedented. “Nearly 800 police officers, gendarmes and magistrates have been organizing for weeks and months to put an end to this drug trafficking”, he recalls. From now on, he recommends, like Sébastien Delogu, to take an interest in the causes of drug trafficking, while increasing “the attacks”.
