“Emmanuel Macron is a serene and determined candidate”, according to MP Modem from Dordogne

“I found this candidate to be calm, serene and determined”, testifies Jean-Pierre Cubertafon, Modem deputy for Dordogne and member of the presidential majority, guest of France Bleu Périgord on Tuesday March 15. He returned to the performance of Emmanuel Macron during the program “La France face à la guerre”, on TF1 this Monday, to which eight of the twelve presidential candidates participated. A great oral solely composed of individual interventions, because the Head of State still refuses to argue with his opponents.

“Emmanuel Macron just complied with the constraints of the show”assures the deputy. “Like his predecessors, this President of the Republic will not accept a debate before the first round. But rest assured, there will be debates!”says Jean-Pierre Cubertafon. “The French like debates and politics. It’s just that for the moment, the President of the Republic has an important role to play: that of head of France in time of war. He will have the opportunity to s to express, then to debate in the second round.”

Jean-Pierre Cubertafon still not a candidate

The president-candidate should present his complete program during a press conference, Thursday, March 17. But Emmanuel Macron has already unveiled a few measures, such as the abolition of the audiovisual license fee or the postponement of the legal age of retirement at age 65. “These first announcements are good”confides the Périgord deputy of the Modem. “What I really liked about him was to say that Europe is our strength. I believe that today, in this context of war, Europe must play an even more important role.”

Asked about his candidacy for a second term as deputy for the Dordogne, Jean-Pierre Cubertafon prefers keep the mystery. “The question of my candidacy does not arise”he says. “There are two times in our democratic life: that of the mandate and that of the electoral campaign. Today, I have two priorities: to continue my work with the inhabitants of my constituency and above all to fight for the re-election of Emmanuel Macron.” The elected official indicates that, insofar as he would run, he would face all the candidates present in his constituency, including those tempted by an investiture under the presidential majorityas reported by our colleagues from South West.
