At night, there is only one regular doctor and two interns, who very often have to prioritize emergencies. “I happened to stay until midnight or one o’clock in the morning, arriving at 8 p.m.”says a patient. “Last time I came and spent the whole day here”says another woman.
A system already out of breath when caregivers would also like to take a vacation, as summer approaches. Professionals consider the situation worrying because there is a lack of caregivers. Nine collectives and unions are calling for a strike on Tuesday, June 7. They are calling for additional recruitment and salary increases.
