Billionaire Elon Musk was greeted with a flood of boos, and some applause, from the audience at a Dave Chappelle performance on Sunday night in San Francisco.
The American comedian called out the Tesla CEO and Twitter owner onstage at a special Punchline Comedy Club event. “Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man in the world,” Dave Chappelle told the audience.
In response to the chorus of boos, Elon Musk told his host, “You didn’t expect that, did you? »
“Looks like some of these people you fired are in the audience,” Dave Chappelle replied, referring to recent layoffs at Twitter.
About half of the 7,500 employees of the San Francisco-based company were laid off in early November as part of a reshuffle that earned Elon Musk widespread criticism.
