Élisabeth Borne once again took responsibility for her government on Monday, October 30, on the expenditure side and on the entire Social Security budget project for 2024. “Despite our desire for dialogue, no opposition group has wanted to deviate from its line: refusing to vote on a budget, whatever it may be”, lamented the Prime Minister to the deputies. This is his fourth 49.3 since the resumption of parliamentary work in September and the 15th since his arrival in Matignon. La France insoumise (LFI) will file a new motion of censure, announced on X (ex-Twitter) the president of the group Mathilde Panot.
Earlier in the evening, the revenue part of the Social Security financing bill (PLFSS) was adopted at first reading in the hemicycle. Two motions of censure were rejected: the first filed by a part of the left (La France insoumise, the Communist Party and Europe Ecologie-Les Verts), which only received 223 votes out of the 289 necessary to bring down the government , a second at the initiative of the RN, which obtained 88 votes.
