Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced on Saturday August 27 in an interview (article subscribers) to Parisian, unlocking a “green fund” endowed with 1.5 billion euros intended for local authorities. This endowment aims to help them to fight against climate change.
The Head of Government explained that this envelope “will enable solutions to be put in place to reduce greenhouse gas emissions”. Elisabeth Borne suggests using this fund to “the rehabilitation of wasteland to limit urban sprawl”to renovate “energy-wise public buildings such as some schools”to bring back “nature in the cities” or install “relay car parks” upon their entry.
