The leaders of the five main political parties in Quebec will cross swords again Thursday evening during a second televised leaders’ debate, in French, where they will try to stand out in the hope of making gains in the approach advance voting this weekend.
This time, they will participate in the debate of the leaders of Radio-Canada, at the Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal, from 8 p.m. The event will be hosted by journalist Patrice Roy.
The leader of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ), Dominique Anglade, will no doubt have renewed energy, the day after the decision of the Superior Court of Quebec which ruled in favor of her party and ordered the Chief Electoral Officer to confirm the candidacy of its candidate Harley Lounsbury in the riding of Matane-Matapédia.

In a tweet on Twitter, Ms. Anglade said she was “happy with the decision”, calling it “a great victory for democracy”, while stressing that the PLQ had “well and truly submitted 125 compliant candidates” for the ballot. of October 3.

The day will therefore be devoted to the final preparations for this second leaders’ debate, followed by the traditional press scrums.

The Radio-Canada leaders’ debate will be divided into five themes, namely the environment, the cost of living and the economy, health, education and services to citizens, then it will be a question of French, immigration and identity.
