“As the only borough without an elected mayor, Ville-Marie does not have the representation it needs. It is a problem that must be resolved. Under a Holness administration, Mouvement Montreal will do everything in its power to ensure that the residents of Ville-Maire have a mayor who will be sensitive to the needs of the community, ”said the head of Mouvement Montreal in a press release on Monday.
This proposal comes after a series of public consultations with borough residents, who have expressed concerns about their representation in municipal politics.
For Mr. Holness, the borough needs better “leadership”. “A borough mayor will also make it possible to better position Ville-Marie in its economic recovery, by ensuring that the borough prospers today and in the future”, argued the candidate.
Mouvement Montréal has also officially committed to giving priority to the Peter-McGill district.
