Essential on the plate of the French, eggs are also one of the foods that has increased the most. Big brand eggs increased by 18% in one year and entry-level eggs by 31%. To understand these increases, the France 3 teams went to meet breeders. For several months, they have been facing a general increase in expenses. One to two cents more per egg

Producers taken by the throat on one side, and consumers who pay more and more dearly on the other. Indeed, between the two, there are other costs, including boxes and fuel. Increases that directly impact entry-level eggs. According to Philippe Goetzmann, distribution and food consultant, it would be impossible to cut back on ancillary costs. To cover their costs, producers charge one to two centimes more per egg, without which many farms could disappear.
