A few weeks before the baccalaureate, a private agricultural high school located in the town of Chamblanc, in Côte-d’Or, has just closed permanently. Financial difficulties are invoked to justify this closure. The students, their parents and the teachers are confused.
Marie and Hugoline are Terminale students at the private agricultural school Anne-Marie Javouhey in Chamblanc (Côte-d’Or). But on the eve of the school holidays, Tuesday April 4, they learned in full course that they had to leave their establishment. The school first planned distance learning for three days, before announcing its outright closure, in the middle of the school year, due to financial difficulties. Parents are responsible for enrolling their children elsewhere for the start of the school year in April.
Parents plan to file a complaint
In shock, the parents try to organize themselves for the future. “The parents had already paid for schooling in Chamblanc, and we are asked, again, to pay in the other high schools. It shows that many children will be out of school, for lack of means, lack of transport”explains Céline Rozborski, parent of a student. On the side of the teaching team, the misunderstanding remains, while the teachers had received guarantees a few days earlier on the fact of being able to finish the school year. All hope to make the management reconsider its decision, failing which the parents plan to file a complaint against the school for deception.
