(Edmonton) Connor McDavid is not in the Edmonton Oilers lineup against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.
McDavid did not take part in the warm-up.
He was also absent during his team’s training on Tuesday.
Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said McDavid missed the session because of some lower-body ailments, but also needed a break.
McDavid ranks third in the NHL with 130 points this season.
He is at the top of the league with 99 assists.
Since McDavid arrived in the NHL in 2015-16, the Oilers are 19-24-9 in his absence.
Edmonton is in second place in the Pacific Division, five points behind the Vancouver Canucks.
The Oilers will also host the Canucks on Saturday evening.
