EDF: a giant under pressure

If EDF is considered one of the most famous companies, it is not for nothing. Leader in energy in France, EDF is a group that has spanned generations. However, in recent years, society has begun to give itself a damaged image. Indeed, distrust of nuclear power has increased, and some incidents have been very badly managed.

Badly managed incidents as shown by that of Séverine Caty, former cleaning agent of the company Samsic, subcontractor of EDF. The latter was called in for a hydrazine flush, “a highly flammable and explosive mutagenic carcinogenic liquid”, she explains. She was supposed to, only supposed to clean a small amount, but to her surprise, 75 liters of liquid were there. A leak is declared and the latter is dismissed. A fault to be attributed to EDF according to his boss at the time. According to him, EDF agents are less and less qualified.
