Drummondville | An octogenarian hit by a car between life and death

(Drummondville) An octogenarian who was traveling on foot was run over by a car Monday morning in Drummondville, in the Centre-du-Québec region. He was transported to a hospital where there are fears for his life.

The accident occurred in the morning around 7 a.m. at the corner of Chutes and Mercure boulevards. In the middle of the afternoon, the SQ was unable to confirm the state of health of the seriously injured man.

The motorist would have made his obligatory stop on the boulevard Mercure, then he would have advanced into the intersection without seeing the pedestrian who was crossing. The man was caught while he was crossing the boulevard, said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Louis-Philippe Ruel.

The person driving was also taken to hospital after suffering a nervous shock.

The boulevards were closed to traffic in this sector for the time to allow investigators specializing in collision investigation to analyze the scene.
