Home-made firearms, commonly known as ghost guns or ghost weapons, cause a lot of headaches for police forces since they cannot be found when they are used to commit a crime.
Large quantities of synthetic drugs were seized by the authorities. However, the exact quantity has not yet been specified.
A 3D printer and $44,000 in cash were also confiscated.
These seizures took place last Wednesday, when the police raided a commercial premises located on rue De Miniac, in the borough of Saint-Laurent.
Brandon Mark was arrested at his home. The latter, who has no criminal history, appeared on 11 charges, including possession of prohibited and restricted firearms with ammunition, possession of prohibited firearms with the aim of trafficking, unauthorized possession of prohibited devices and careless storage of firearms. He remains detained pending further legal proceedings.
This police intervention came just two weeks after the dismantling of another clandestine laboratory discovered in a commercial building located on Saint-Germain Street, once again in the Saint-Laurent borough.
More than two million methamphetamine tablets were then seized as part of the operation, which spanned three days. Five suspects were also arrested.
