Dr. Boileau will provide an update on COVID-19

The acting national director of public health, Luc Boileau, will hold a press conference on Sunday to provide an update on the evolution of the current COVID-19 situation in Quebec.

Last week, faced with the rise in cases, public health authorities no longer expected to lift the obligation to wear a mask in public places before mid-April.

Dr. Boileau attributed the increase in COVID-19 cases in the province to the rise of the Omicron BA.2 subvariant and the recent lifting of health measures, which was expected.

Public health has started to prepare a reminder campaign for a fourth dose of vaccine, first for the most vulnerable people, i.e. those who are in CHSLDs, seniors’ residences, who are immunosuppressed or who are 80 years old. and more.
