This is the conclusion of a psychiatric report whose conclusions were made public Thursday at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse.

Since his arrest last week at the crime scene where two women, his mother and a neighbor, were stabbed to death, Puglisi has undergone an assessment on his fitness to stand trial.

However, the report produced by a psychiatrist from the Philippe-Pinel Institute comes to the conclusion that he is still unfit to appear.

Dressed in a gray t-shirt and standing in the dock, Fabio Puglisi remained silent and listened to the judge explain to him that he will have to undergo pharmacological treatment for 30 days.

His mental state appears to interfere with the criteria that will allow him to stand trial. This 30-day treatment aims to stabilize Puglisi’s mental state, explained judge Bertrand St-Arnaud to the accused who headed to the Philippe-Pinel Institute where he will be detained.

He will return to court on March 25.

He faces two counts of unpremeditated murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault.

During his short appearance before the judge last week, he made rambling remarks, notably mentioning that “my parents here on earth were my grandparents” and that “I’m going to clean up when I get home.” .

When emergency services arrived, they discovered the bodies of Elisabetta Caucci-Puglisi, 68, and Manon Blanchard, 53.

These were obvious deaths. The third victim, aged 69, was rushed to a hospital, where he is now in stable condition.

Note that the accused had previously been found not criminally responsible on two occasions due to his condition. He was already accused of assaulting a complete stranger who was in front of his residence last fall.
