Double murder in the Saint-Michel district | Two young suspects accused of premeditated murder

A young man previously suspected of being part of a car theft ring and a teenager appeared in court Friday in connection with the double murder that occurred last July in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal.

Three suspects were arrested by the Major Crimes Section of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) on Thursday in the case of the double murder by firearm that occurred in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension last July. Only two of them appeared in court. They are Ali Kirisikoglu, 21, and a 15-year-old teenager who cannot be named because he is a minor.

The latter appeared in the morning in Youth Division. The other suspect also appeared at the Montreal courthouse. He is accused of the premeditated murders of Guy Love Jolicœur and Peter Dave Alisme.

On July 19, gunshots rang out in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension during the night, around 1:50 a.m. The projectiles hit two men in their thirties, who ultimately succumbed to their injuries after being taken to hospital.

Involved in car thefts

Ali Kirisikoglu was already in custody at the time of the arrest.

The young man has had some run-ins with the law in Quebec, including pending cases related to possession of burglary tools, driving a vehicle while prohibited from complying with conditions. He is scheduled to return to court next week in these cases.

Ali Kirisikoglu was also arrested in Ontario and is believed to be involved in the car theft. The alleged murderer had previously been arrested by York police in connection with the theft of a Ford F150 in March 2024, according to local media.

In October 2023, Ali Kirisikoglu was arrested again with an accomplice in the neighboring province, according to Toronto media. The police had then seized 25 stolen cars.
