Here is a Chablis that could not be more classic.
Its color is pale, its aromas moderate: Chablis is never an exuberant and very fruity wine, but rather fine and mineral. This one, Domaine Gueguen Chablis 2021, offers a delicate nose, with a little green apple and citrus zest, but also aromas reminiscent of the sea, shells, flint.
The palate is impeccable, with substance, tension, consistency and length. A nice creamy texture coats the palate, with notes of pear, cream and almond, and that mineral impression that underlies it all.
Very fresh, it stretches in the finish on a chalky impression.
A very complete wine, with a moderate alcohol content, it will happily accompany pasta with salmon and cream, as well as fresh or au gratin oysters.
