According to the association, a medical team of four people were on the way, in a car “clearly identified”when armed men “fired on the crew”. Two employees died. The other two managed to escape.
The two victims, of Burkinabe nationality, were employed by Doctors Without Borders as a driver and as a logistics supervisor. “We are shocked and outraged by this assassination, says Isabelle Defourny, president of MSF. This is a deliberate and intentional attack on a clearly identified humanitarian team as part of its medical mission.”
