Do you have time to chat? The Carrefour de Feurs is now equipped with a blablabla cash register

Stressed out shopping, go your way! Here we take the time to discuss. Since mid-January, the Carrefour group has been setting up checkouts in 250 of its stores. These are boxes where there is no rush and where customers can chat with the cashier or cashier a little longer than usual. At the Carrefour de Feurs store, one of the 19 checkouts was transformed into a blablabla checkout a month ago, and since then the feedback has been extremely positive.

A very nice cashier and delighted customers

No big difference with standard boxes, except maybe the small sign installed above the treadmill who says “Yes to take the time to chat with you.” “It’s true that it’s good“, says Marc, a regular at the store, who is served by Marlène. “I like to chat a lot so it’s true that it’s a box that suits me well“, says the cashier, who has worked for Carrefour for three years.

The difference with my colleagues? I’m nicer” loose Marlene before bursting out laughing. “Of course I’m kidding, it’s just that on my fund, there is no hurry. We live in a world where everything has to go very quickly and it’s good to take a little time. So we don’t chat for 30 minutes, but just exchange a few words, ask if everything went well in the store, if nothing is missing. And sometimes we discuss things that are a little more personal.

A direct link with customers

When a product is missing from the shelves, Marlène notes it and then escalates it to store management. “It’s better than any satisfaction questionnaire or survey“, explains Gregory Genestet, the store manager. “This allows us to have a direct link with the customer, to find out if products are no longer available, or if customers do not find a product with us that they find in the competition.

I have only had positive feedback from customers, they like to be taken into consideration“, continues Marlene. “It’s really nice and it feels good, especially since two years ago that we no longer have too many social ties“, confides Christine, a client. “We look people in the eye again, it’s super important, instead of lowering our heads, we raise it.“Obviously it’s a success. If the Carrefour group allows it, the management of the Feurs store does not rule out opening other blablabla crates.
