DIY stores are robbed after heavy hailstorms in Gironde

DIY stores have been robbed for more than a week. Tiles, wood, tarpaulins; individuals are looking to repair their roof. But materials are scarce.

Nicolas lives in Blanquefort. He is looking for tiles for the roof of his shed which has received about fifteen impacts. But the shelf is empty at the Leroy Merlin in Merignac. A shortage that dates back more than a yearbut salespeople struggle to explain it to customers.

Mael Gomez is a seller: “ we have customers who come every day for tiles, unfortunately we cannot meet their demand… they are advised to go elsewhere. “But the result is no better, explains Lucien, a retiree from Eysines who returns empty-handed from Point P. “ After they looked at their national stocks, they may have some near Angoulême… » Lucien is hesitating to go there because he would like to stock up a bit, the tiles on his roof are a little unusual and hard to find.

In the meantime he put a small tarpaulin on his roof ” it’s not terrible but we relativize : in Eysines the damage was much less significant than in Taillan or Saint Médard. »
