A small paradise accessible by train, the coves of the Blue Coast are less known than those of Marseille and Cassis.

A few kilometers north of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) are the beauty and calm of the Blue Coast. To discover the meanders of the limestone massif, you sometimes have to come by train, like three visitors, who have come for a great show. Between viaducts and tunnels, the train journey offers 30 km of viewpoints over the fifteen coves of the Blue Coast, smaller and less known than those of Marseille and Cassis. “It’s super convenient to be able to get off a train and be in the creeks 15 minutes later”notes a passenger.

A magnificent spectacle

The Niolon cove is the favorite of divers, who come from far and wide to admire the local fauna and flora. “It’s the fight against anxiety, it’s in this context that I started to dive”, explains the diving instructor. In the cove, sheltered from the mistral, the flight can begin. Around the amphorae of Antiquity, underwater flora and fauna unfold. Once back on dry land, divers can go and taste panisse, a local specialty made from chickpeas. A simple and authentic little taste that we appreciate facing the sea.
