A new system of verbalization by video arrives in Metz this Monday, October 31. It is located on Place du Parlement in Metz (in front of the Eurometropolis) and rue aux Arènes, near the multimodal hub (the place where you take the shuttles to the Lorraine TGV station).
A sector which was not chosen at random, explains the town hall, which affirms that it is “subject to numerous parking violations, particularly on bus lanes, which sometimes leads to service disruptions”.
Track down badly parked cars
Verbalization by camera makes it possible to spot people in the wrong place (on sidewalks, spaces reserved for taxis), which telephone while driving or who do not have their belt on, or even drivers who have exceeded the time allowed on the minute stops. The video surveillance will also control the respect for white lines, that it is forbidden to cross, and the wearing a helmet for two wheels.
The city of Metz has already announced that it wants to improve the video protection system. 1000 cameras will be in service in the city by 2026. If this test proves successful, the verbalization system by camera could be extended to other districts.
