This Thursday evening took place the Pégases, this annual meeting rewarding the best video game creations, like the Games Awards in the United States. Among the 88 games nominated in 16 categories, several of them won the awards!
Focus on the big winners of these “Video Game Caesars”, organized by the Academy of Video Game Arts and Techniques, presented by the host Salomé Lagresle and broadcast live for the first time on the Twitch channel of France Télévisions and TheStream.
Did you know ? As Minister of Culture Rima Abdul-Malak reminded us, video games are the number one cultural industry in France.
straycrowned best French video game of the year
The game from Montpellier studio BlueTwelve won the title of best French video game of the year. This game, which previously distinguished itself at the Game Awards, won the trophy for “best independent video game” and that of “best first game”. A real jackpot for this game where you play as an alley cat trying to survive in a ruined futuristic city.
A Plague Tale: Requiem wins four trophies
Another big winner of this fourth edition, the game A Plague Tale: Requiem, with four awards. Created by the Bordeaux studio Asobo, this second part of the saga A Plague Tale received four trophies, including the “Audience Award”. Thrill guaranteed in this new opus where we follow the two heroes (Amicia and Hugo) who are still fighting against the plague rats.
Exclusives
A few exclusives were presented on the Cigale stage, such as a trailer for the next game Tintin Reporter – Cigars of the Pharaoh, preview Road 96: Mile 0, information from Fortiche Productions on season 2 ofArcane or even the new DLC of the game Solasta: Crown of the Magister.
Foreign games and the artistic dimension of the games also rewarded
This ceremony rewards French productions, but also foreign productions. Indeed, three prizes are awarded specifically to foreign games: that of the “best foreign video game” for Elden Ringof the “best foreign independent video game” for Tnic and that of the “best foreign mobile video game” for Spirit farer.
Another good point: the Pegasus also highlights the artistic work behind these video games, with prizes such as “narrative excellence”, “visual excellence” or “best sound universe”, all won by A Plague Tale: Requiem
