“It could possibly be Mr. Duchesneau’s cell phone, but we still need to assess it at the level of the Technological Crimes Module,” indicates Pierre-Olivier Lévesque, spokesperson for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) .

The device was found Thursday evening by a citizen in an underground parking lot located near rue du Pont and rue du Prince-Édouard.

Camera images obtained by the authorities had also seen him enter this location on the morning of his disappearance.

“He dozed off to rest for a while and came out from there around 4:40 a.m. heading east. We see him heading back towards a cycle path along the Saint-Charles River,” his cousin, Arianne Duchesneau, told the Journal on Thursday.

The SQ as reinforcement

Although the SPVQ’s field research ended Thursday, the police force emphasizes that the investigation is continuing in this case.

“The Sûreté du Québec helicopter will fly over the Saint-Charles River sector today, as well as the Saint-Laurent River,” says Mr. Lévesque.

Jessy Duchesneau, originally from Paspébiac, has been missing since early Saturday morning, after spending the evening at the Midnight Blue bar with classmates.

The strange behavior of the 19-year-old young man when he left the bars led his loved ones and people who were around him during the evening to believe that he could have been drugged without his knowledge.
