On Wednesday April 26, Geneviève Darrieussecq, Minister Delegate for People with Disabilities, was the guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2. While the 6th National Conference on Disability (CNH) is being held this Wednesday at the Élysée, Geneviève Darrieussecq estimate that “we are behind on accessibility issues” people with disabilities in different places. “The State is responsible for its infrastructure, but we also have carriers, municipalities, a whole range of officials who must move towards full accessibility”she recalled.

The subjects of transport and education

Concerning access to transport for people with disabilities, Geneviève Darrieussecq specified that, on the “nearly 160” national stations, “half are now fully accessible”. “The objective for us is that all national stations be made fully accessible by 2027”she estimated, indicating that an envelope of 400 million euros is planned for this.

Concerning the care of children with disabilities in the education system, Geneviève Darrieussecq indicated that “dedicated teams” medico-social professionals “will be able to intervene in schools to help teachers and professionals who are in schools to support these children in the best possible way”. “These teams will be deployed gradually. (…) The objective being that in 2027, we will have deployed this in a majority of schools”she clarified.
