They did 2021, a series to find all these Christmas holidays on the airwaves of France Bleu Bourgogne! Your radio station looks back on the journey of those who marked the year 2021. In cycling, the season was marked by the first Tour de France of Jeremy Cabot !

Just before his 30th birthday, the Côte-d’Orien roller (born in Troyes but now living near Dijon, and former resident of the SCO Dijon) had the most beautiful experience, completing his first Grande Boucle.

The outcome … before the injury!

More than his ranking, 132nd out of 141 cyclists at the finish, finishing the three weeks of racing on the Champs-Elysées was the culmination of the season for the resident of the French team Total Energies.

Except that the race also took a lot of energy! Jérémy Cabot is injured for the rest of the season, which took him several weeks away from the professional peloton: “My season ended a little earlier than expected, in mid-September. I had a small inflammation in the Achilles tendon. It created a lot of physical fatigue, but also mental and psychological fatigue, and it is perhaps that which is the most difficult to evacuate. ”

Jérémy Cabot does not hide it, he suffered the repercussions of his first Tour de France. “I was hoping to enjoy my season a little more after this first Grand Tour!” But the rider could not gauge himself. Too bad after a first part of the season marked by a beautiful 5th place in the road race of the French road championships!

He has since been reassured by his team: “The speech of the leaders is clear: I have succeeded my season. I had a great start to summer, a great French championship. After the Tour de France, we had a joint reflection with my team, I needed to rest for the next season. ”

More legitimacy thanks to the Tour de France

On the positive side, his first Grande Boucle gave him a certain legitimacy: “We often classify the riders between those who have done the Tour and those who have not. It’s a bit of a quick shortcut but it helps to find its place in the peloton! “

In forced rest since mid-September, Jérémy Cabot made juice! He also stayed at home longer with his relatives. Add to that a few post-injury training outings, the 2022 season is already in the sights!

A new year in a stable context. Became professional in 2017, returned to the amateurs in 2019 with the SCO Dijon club, the rider is under contract with the Total Energies team until the end of the 2023 season.

Curiosity of 2022 for Jérémy Cabot, the discovery of a colleague of choice: a triple world champion on the road! Slovak Peter Sagan has signed for two seasons with the Vendée team Total Energies.
