“To advance the subjects which have a concrete impact on the daily life of the French” : this is Emmanuel Macron’s priority for the French presidency of the Council of the European Union, which starts on January 1, 2022 for six months, the entourage of the President of the Republic told France Télévisions on Wednesday, December 8.

The head of state will detail his project Thursday at a press conference, from 4 p.m. He particularly wishes to tackle three subjects, specifies the same source: “digital” protecting “children of violent and pornographic content”, “health” with the fight against Covid-19 and “industrial sovereignty” after the shortage of masks faced by most European countries at the start of the pandemic.

His entourage ensures that Emmanuel Macron “will assume the French presidency of the European Union until the last minute of his mandate” which will coincide with the campaigns for the presidential election of April 10 and 24 and then for the legislative elections scheduled for June in France.
